A Look at Dragon Tattoos
By Nick J Brodka

Do you remember that Hannibal Lecter movie sequel, Red Dragon? The full-body back dragon tattoo gives shiver and astonishment to the viewers with its fascinating details. It actually looks like the tattoo is really a part of his body. For tattoos, you should be careful in choosing the right dragon tattoo you are planning to have because it's permanent.

Great dragon tattoos add some attitude on your personality. In most countries, especially Asian countries, people believe that dragons are powerful creatures. This fire-blasting, huge, winged mythical creature is most popular in China, Japan and Korea.

There are actually two kinds of dragons people from these places believe into to bring balance to the world. Dragons, as perceived in the West are somewhat the bad ones, the destroyer and troublemaker dragons while in the East; they are the good ones, the savior and guardian of the Earth.

dragon tattoosThese dragons also represent luck. These dragons are deemed to be guarding some great treasures in a heavenly realm. They are believed to bring good fortune to people especially during the lunar New Year. Some of these become the deities and guardians, like ancestors, among Chinese people. Because of the strong influence of the Chinese and Japanese to the world, dragons have been considered as one of the great creatures although their existence isn't seen at the present time.

In the West, dragons are evil. As depicted in the Bible, the serpent-like creature

is an emblem of Satan the devil when he used the serpent to deceive Adam and Eve. In the Revelation part of the Bible, Satan is symbolized by the red dragon with seven heads was hurled down to the Earth. And in most of the popular myths we know, and even fairy tales, dragons are the source of all evil. And in these tales, defeating a dragon is a mark of power, strength and courage. So people feel powerful and invincible with this dragon tattoo on their bodies.

Both men and women alike feel a unique haven and comfort that they are untouchables because of the confidence this dragon tattoo gives them. For women, they see it as a sign of being strong, independent and able to love without men around.

Dragon tattoos do not go out of style even if the real creatures are nowhere to be found. The fantastic and cool designs are available everywhere, either on books or in the net. The legend stays in every people's heart, mind and skin as well.
